I arrived in England
without many expectations but when I got there I immediately noticed how
fantastic and useful that week would be! I learnt a lot about other countries
and also about the theme of the project. I learnt how to speak English better.
But especially I met fantastic people with whom I could shared a lot of ideas
and opinions with, I could discuss with them about different topics and made
new friends! I also realized how useful was this project to learn how to
communicate, get on well with other people, and face our fears about staying
far away from home. I had a lot of fun thanks to the activities and the free
time where I could play, dance and joke with other people. We discussed very
interesting and important topics for our future, I came back with a lot more
knowledge than I left with so thanks everybody for this experience and I hope
to enjoy another project like this one.
Pierangela.
It was my first
project abroad and I am very grateful that I had the opportunity to live this
experience. At first, I was afraid because I had to talk to other people in a
foreign language, but just after a couple of days I felt very confident and
thank to this, I had the chance to communicate with people from all over the
Europe. Moreover thanks to this project I was able to learn about different
European educational systems with all their positive and negative aspects. This
made me think about how the Italian educational system could be improved.
Furthermore this project encouraged me to leave my comfort zone and face other
cultures' realities.
This was the first
project I had ever been involved in and it was probably one of the best
experiences of my entire life so far. All my expectation were exceeded and I’m
looking forward to participating in some other project similar to this one. It
was great to live all under the same roof and this definitely helped us to get
to know each other. My communication skills got better each day that went by.
I’m so proud of all the work we’ve done and the information I’ve picked up
during my staying. I was pleased to express my ideas, see them turn into
reality with the help of other people who shared my same opinion and I was
amazed to see how communication only can solve problems. I’m so grateful for
the opportunity I was given and for the friendships I built there and still
have now. I met some truly amazing and hard working people who were kind to me.
The activities were so much fun and interactive, everyone could share their own
opinion on the topics. It was also very interested to learn about all the
different educational system of the coutries that took part in this project.
Summing it all up, the location was marvelous, the food was delicious, the
people were brilliant and so were the members of Romanca Society, who organized
this project wonderfully and I really hope to get to work with them again in
the future.
Beatrice.
By now it has been
almost three weeks since the project has finished and the more time passes, the
more I realize how much this project has been important to me. It has
spurred me to get more involved into things and to face my fears. Thanks to
this project I had the opportunity to discover cultural differences and
similarities and to discuss different national realities. Learning more about
other countries, I became more aware of my own cultural background. I learned
to inform myself more, ask for help if necessary and to be precise in giving
answers to participants' questions. I learned to observe and learn from others.
Thanks to the project now I know more about school systems, religion and food
of some other European countries and I became more confident in expressing
myself in the English language in front of a large group of people. It was a
great and very useful experience, and I want to thank all the people who helped
in making this project possible.
Georgiana.
On the 9th of March I
left to spend ten days in England to do this project with four Italian mates.
Day by day I learnt a lot by talking to people from different backgrounds and
cultures. This experience gave me the opportunity to learn things about the
educational systems of other countries and to analyse the problems of the
Italian one. Everybody was interested and put something of themselves into the
activities. What was truly fantastic was working together for a purpose. The
best thing was to see that everyone was listening to other people's opinions,
and even if they disagreed, they would still respect them. I'm happy and proud
of being in this group and I want to thank you all for everything you've done.
Ellis.
